Video from Mary

Video in production

Mary's introduction video is being filmed. Until it's live, here is exactly what she would tell you.

Hi, I'm Mary Barnes.

If you are here, you probably agree with one of the central ideas behind my work: before an organization acts, it should understand what is actually producing the problem.

The same symptom can come from very different conditions: leadership, decision rights, broken handoffs, conflicting incentives, or a system that no longer fits. Prescribe too early, and you can spend a great deal of time and money fixing the wrong thing.

An organizational diagnostic investigates what is underneath the symptom. I hear the executive's perspective, examine documents and workflows, and listen across the system through confidential interviews. Then I test those perspectives against the evidence and turn what I learn into findings and decisions.

That is the work I do through Evolve.

I use the same diagnosis-before-prescription principle in this first conversation. I am not going to prescribe my own service before I understand your situation.

This is not a pitch call. You will not have to sit through a presentation. It is a listening session for me. I will ask questions, and you will tell me about your organization: what is happening, what keeps repeating, what you have tried, why it matters now, and what decision may be waiting on better clarity.

Then I will tell you the best way I believe I can help. That may be an Evolve diagnostic. It may be something smaller, faster, or entirely different. Or I may tell you that I am not the right person for what you need. If I recommend working together, I will explain why and what the next step would look like. I am not going to pitch you into a service that does not fit.

You do not need a presentation or a perfectly defined problem. Bring the situation as you understand it, why it matters, and a willingness to have an honest conversation.

If that is the kind of conversation you are looking for, choose a time below or send me a message. We will start with the problem, not a predetermined solution.

Quick answers

Is this a sales pitch?

No. Mary will not walk you through a presentation or pitch a predetermined offer. This is a listening session for Mary so she can understand your organization and tell you the best way she believes she can help.

How long is the call?

Thirty minutes. Long enough for Mary to actually understand your situation, short enough that a busy executive can commit to it without a major calendar decision. The booking calendar below shows the same thirty minutes when you pick a day and time.

What happens during the conversation?

Mary will ask what is happening, what keeps repeating, what you have tried, why the issue matters now, and what decision may be waiting on better clarity. She will listen for the pattern underneath the presenting problem and recommend the next step that best fits.

What should I bring?

You do not need a presentation or a perfectly defined problem. Bring the situation as you understand it, why it matters, and a willingness to have an honest conversation.
