About Our Team: Trevor Tomion
As both a consultant and internal leader I’ve profiled, screened, interviewed, and evaluated hundreds of job candidates at all levels. Strategically, I’ve been trained to assess individuals, teams, and organizations, in that order, to understand and create solutions for each. I have designed, developed, and delivered hundreds of workshops on a range of social science topics. In sales, project management, customer service, career counseling, business consulting, healthcare operations, and as a media & startup entrepreneur, I’ve been fortunate to serve a range of individuals from entry-level job seekers to executives of multinational organizations. The industries that those individuals worked in included everything from medical technology to heavy equipment fabrication. Studying the deliberate utilization of creativity, I received my MS from SUNY Buffalo State College in Creative Studies in 2015.
Something people might not know about me:
Strawberries loosely define the first 18 years of my life. I was born at the beginning of the strawberry season and grew up on a strawberry farm.
My life philosophy:
I have a philosophy on many things, but “life” is a big one! Treat each person as a whole person. Share resources like knowledge, access, and seeds. Support the people that support you. Celebrate Moms. Celebrate people that aren’t like you (most people aren’t like you, so you won’t have to look far). Be as bold as you can bring yourself to be and challenge yourself once in a while. Social constructs are really cool — learn about them and then challenge them. Commit to someone else’s business with all you’ve got, at least once in your career — it could be life-changing. Grow things.
One word my colleagues would use to describe me:
Ideas
What “people-centric” means to me:
People-centric in its current form in my head steals from an old document: “for the people.” I strive to create & develop with the intention that “for the people” isn’t “against” anything, but it must serve the greater cause that is humanity in some way. Generally, that starts with the people in front of me, so I also start there and work my way out.
My favorite hobby:
Gardening is my favorite hobby. Sometimes I call it urban farming, but I don’t think I’m quite there. Having grown up around dirt, fruits, vegetables, and tractors, I enjoy spending some time making the most out of the space on my patio.
